Day 1 Arrive Bariloche
Frekari upplýsingar Less info
Arrive in Bariloche at any time.
Arrive in Bariloche at any time. Our local operator will meet you at your hotel. After a short briefing you have time to explore the city, buy some of the city's world famous chocolates and enjoy a typical Argentine dinner at a local restaurant.
Situated on the beautiful shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, Bariloche is a year-round playground for skiers, hikers and outdoors enthusiasts of all types. Enjoy optional day hikes, hire a mountain bike, or simply relax in a cafe. The urban centre of the Argentine Lake District, San Carlos de Bariloche in many ways resembles alpine resorts of Europe. During winter ski season the town fills to capacity with jovial Argentine and Brazilian vacationers whose favourite pastime seems to be eating and drinking. Their gusto is understandable; Bariloche has some of the best food in the country. Sample a beefy parrillada, a variety of fresh salmon or lake trout or some of Bariloche's famous chocolate, then work it off during a day hike around Cerro Catedral or while practicing your salsa at one of the town's salsotecas.

Day 2-4 Kayak expedition
Frekari upplýsingar Less info
Experience the rugged nature of Patagonia by kayak as we paddle through one of the most beautiful places in the world - Brazo Tristeza, Patagonia. Get limbered up as your kayaking voyage starts in the morning, paddling through spectacular lakes surrounded by beautiful trees, lush vegetation and diverse wildlife. Waters are usually calm, making for an easy paddle.
Morning pickup at your hotel by the local operator; you may leave some of your extra belongings at the hotel while you are on expedition. Transfer by van to Hess Lake, located at 700m above sea level, where local guides brief you on kayak water safety. Paddle this incredible lake, watching birds along shores thick with vegetation. Finish our first day's paddle at Fonk Chico Lake where we set up camp and spend the night.
After a good breakfast, it's back into our kayaks. Keep paddling along Fonk Grande Lake, exploring deeper into this incredible area, not well known by most tourists. In the evening return to the campsite for a great dinner and some well-earned rest.
After one last breakfast prepare your equipment and start heading back to the city of Bariloche. Cross Quieto river to return to Hess lake. Across the lake is the Manso River, one of the most important rivers in Patagonia, which connects you with your last lake, Roca Lake. Paddle through this scenic lake surrounded by extremely old trees, called Alerces, now protected by the government and National Parks.
At the end of the lake we leave our kayaks and take the van back to the city. Take a hot bath and go taste the local food at one of the many great restaurants downtown.
